We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Boral, working primarily in the Aggregates Section. Based in Baulkham Hills, this role involves conducting laboratory tests on construction materials, preparing test samples, analyzing data and maintaining records.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory tests in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as prescribed.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Meet the requirements for NATA accreditation of the laboratory.
  • Undertake other tasks as directed by the Section Head.

Requirements:

  • A commitment to upholding high standards of safety and quality.
  • Prior experience in laboratory testing of soils and aggregates is desirable but not essential.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in science or a related field (e.g., civil engineering, chemistry) would be advantageous.
  • Excellent skills in data analysis and reporting using Microsoft Office and/or LIMS software.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • An ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Australian and industry standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A customer-focused approach with strong analytical skills.
