Cloud Database Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Database Specialist to administer business-critical database servers across Australia's financial markets.


Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, maintain and support AWS Aurora/RDS instances, running PostgreSQL and other database engines.
  • Recommend best practices and approaches for administration of AWS RDS/Aurora.
  • Monitor and optimise the performance of database instances.
  • Resolve database incidents and requests.
  • Create and maintain documentation.

Requirements
  • Database administration experience in a corporate environment.
  • Strong technical skills and experience supporting PostgreSQL in AWS Aurora/RDS.
  • Practical experience of migration from on-premises databases to AWS Aurora/RDS.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise scale infrastructure.
  • Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Nice to Have
  • Financial services industry experience or knowledge.
  • Practical experience supporting SQL Server, Oracle Database or MySQL, either on-premises or in AWS.
  • Experience with other AWS services such as DMS, Athena, CloudWatch and Lambda functions.
  • Any experience with Terraform or broader AWS components such as IAM would be a bonus.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server or Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • AWS, Microsoft, Oracle or other related certifications.
