Safety Advisor - Civil

This role is an excellent opportunity to join a highly reputable business with a strong pipeline of work in the civil construction industry. As a Safety Advisor - Civil, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of personnel and the environment on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and distribute a monthly HSE report for management.
  • Conduct Safe Act Observation (SAO) and workplace inspections per week.
  • Ensure the My OSH system is up to date with training records of new and existing personnel.
  • Develop and issue QSE management plans for projects.
  • Lead site audits as and when required by the business or our clients.
  • Manage Workers Compensation and Injury Management/Return to Work, to minimize costs and impacts on productivity.
  • Understand high risks associated with a construction/civil site and undertake risk assessments.
  • Develop and implement a yearly SHE improvement plan including Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound actions.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety, or Environmental related discipline.
  • 5 years or more experience in health & safety in a construction environment.
  • Sydney water experience preferred.
  • Ability to engage with and coach company personnel.
  • An innovative approach to building a strong HSE culture.
  • A detailed understanding of WHS, Injury Management, and Environmental legislation.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
