About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transport Planner to join our team in Brisbane, QLD. As a key member of our Project and Infrastructure Advisory team, you will play a critical role in delivering strategic transport modelling services to clients across the public and private sectors.

With a strong background in transport planning, engineering, economics, or related fields, you will have expertise in developing studies to assess current and future traffic patterns, travel behaviour, and system performance. You will also be proficient in utilising advanced modelling software to simulate and analyse transportation and land use scenarios.

Your exceptional collaboration skills and experience working across multi-disciplinary teams will enable you to effectively integrate transportation models into broader urban planning efforts and economic analysis. Additionally, you will possess the ability to develop and refine mathematical models to accurately represent complex transportation systems.

You will work closely with engineering, planning, and environmental professionals to address transportation challenges and implement effective solutions. Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will allow you to interpret data and provide actionable insights for infrastructure improvements and policy recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the on-time and on-budget delivery of engagements, including project planning, cost management, schedule control, risk/issue management, reporting, and invoicing.
  • Undertake business development activities, engaging with current and potential clients, tracking potential engagement opportunities, and contributing to proposal preparation and tender processes.
  • Share your knowledge of the broader market environment and industry trends, maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, project partners, and industry peers.
  • Contribute to team planning, development, and maintenance of a high-performance culture, including coaching, mentoring, and supporting L&D initiatives.

What You'll Need
  • Tertiary qualifications in mathematics, engineering, economics, or other quantitative degrees.
  • Experience in the use of government models used in Queensland and NSW will be beneficial.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across multi-disciplinary teams involved in infrastructure planning studies, technical reports, and/or business cases.
  • Previous experience and exposure to strategic transport modelling for government and/or the private sector.
  • Well-developed report writing, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
  • Effective engagement and stakeholder management skills in complex environments.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
