The Surgical Nurse Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Registered Nurse to join our team in a private clinic setting. As a Surgical Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pre, intra, and post-operative care to patients
- Work collaboratively with Skin cancer doctors to ensure a smooth surgical procedure experience
- Scrub and participate in sterile procedures, confidently assisting with instruments and supplies
- Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance
- Assess and manage wounds using advanced dressing techniques to promote optimal healing
- Educate patients and families about pre and post-operative care procedures
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines
The Location
Our private clinic is located in a convenient suburban area, offering easy access to nearby amenities and public transport. The clinic's setting combines the tranquility of suburban life with the convenience of being close to the city center.
Essential Criteria
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a surgical setting
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced wound care and dressing techniques
- Wound care/skin qualifications or certificates (desirable)
