Financial Representative Job Description

This position involves acting as the primary financial representative for a portfolio of shopping centers and other real estate assets. The Financial Representative will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting process, ensuring accuracy and quality in reporting.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Reporting
  • Providing timely and accurate financial reports, including month-end analysis and commentary for each shopping center in the portfolio.
  • Developing and presenting financial reports to senior management and clients to support strategic business decision-making.

Business Partnering

  • Providing value-adding business partnering to senior management, centre teams, and clients.
  • Supporting management accounting across centres and head office departments.
  • Developing key stakeholder relationships.

Forecast and Budget

  • Preparing annual budgets and business plans; presenting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Delivering quarterly forecasts by partnering with centre management and leasing teams, challenging assumptions, and providing financial insights.

Improvements

  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, monthly reporting, and analytic tools.
  • Driving continuous improvement of budgeting and forecasting modules.

Team Support

  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff within the finance team to foster learning and development.
  • Assisting with due diligence analysis for new management projects and ad hoc project work.
  • Contributing to business case development and executive reporting for decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in accounting, CA/CPA qualifications, and experience in retail property or stakeholder engagement and client relationship management. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP accounting systems is also required.
