Empowering Communities through Youth Engagement

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Youth Representative. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Australians living with blood cancer.

About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for visiting schools, inspiring teachers and students, and motivating them to participate in the World's Greatest Shave fundraising campaign. Your mission will be to bring new schools on board, reconnect with existing ones, and support schools already involved to maximize their fundraising efforts.

  • You will use email, phone calls, and digital channels to contact schools, introduce yourself, and find the right contact for the World's Greatest Shave.
  • You will visit schools to introduce them to the campaign and get them involved.
  • You will deliver engaging talks to students and teachers about the cause and how they can help.
  • You will follow up with phone calls, emails, or visits to answer questions and help schools get started.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspiring and signing up schools to take part in the campaign.
  • Reconnecting with past fundraisers and inviting them back.
  • Supporting schools already involved to have the best possible experience while maximizing funds raised.
  • Staying organized and keeping accurate records of schools visited and planned next steps.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Confidence speaking to groups.
  • A friendly, approachable manner and ability to connect with people quickly.
  • Great communication skills – in person, over the phone, and in writing.
  • Good organization and time management.
  • A driver's license and reliable vehicle (with reimbursement for kilometres).
  • A Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one before starting).

Bonus Requirements:

  • Experience in customer service, sales, promotions, or community engagement.
  • Understanding of schools and youth culture.
  • Experience with CRM software or Microsoft Office.
