Heavy Equipment Operator

Driver Hire is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join their team in Derwent Park. This role involves operating forklifts to load and unload vehicles, performing daily equipment checks and maintenance, adhering to safety protocols and company policies, and assisting with inventory management and stock control.
About the RoleThis is a challenging opportunity for an individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, requires strong attention to detail, and possesses excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Loading and Unloading Vehicles: Safely operate forklifts to load and unload vehicles, ensuring efficient and accurate movement of goods.
- Daily Equipment Checks and Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance on forklifts and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Safety Protocols and Company Policies: Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and compliance within the workplace.
- Inventory Management and Stock Control: Assist with inventory management and stock control processes, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of stock levels.
- Valid Forklift Ticket: Possess a valid forklift ticket or equivalent certification.
- Proven Experience: Proven experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment in a warehouse or similar environment.
- Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Physical Condition: Good physical condition, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Communication and Organizational Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
