
Developmental Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate occupational therapist to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will involve working with children and families to develop strategies for overcoming developmental delays and disabilities.
About the RoleThis role involves delivering supports in partnership with families to help them achieve their goals, using evidence-informed best practice. You will use assessments, observations, and your understanding of child development to tailor support options that fit each child and family. Empower families, caregivers, and professionals, helping them build skills and confidence to support children in their everyday lives.
You will also connect children and families with their community to ensure they are included and can participate in the settings and activities they choose. Keeping thorough records of conversations, developmental progress, and goals, in the relevant business system is an essential part of this role.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver supports in partnership with families to help them achieve their goals
- Use assessments, observations, and your understanding of child development to tailor support options
- Empower families, caregivers, and professionals to build skills and confidence
- Connect children and families with their community
- A tertiary qualification in Allied Health
- Expert knowledge in child development and the ability to identify developmental issues
- Proven track record supporting families and children with developmental delays/disabilities
- Flexibility to work full-time/part-time from home, office, or within the community
- Inclusive and supportive team environment with professional support, training, and supervision
- Ongoing training for all staff including group supervision with national leads and leadership opportunities
