Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Criminal Law Solicitor to join our team in Frankston.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in both the Magistrates' and County Courts of Victoria, appearing in court on a daily or near-daily basis.
  • Attend to client appointments, obtain instructions, and prepare court appearances.
  • Prepare briefs for Counsel and letters of instruction for psychologists, psychiatrists, neuropsychiatrists, and medical clinicians.
  • Manage a high volume of summary files in the Magistrates' Court and potentially indictable files that finalize in the County and Supreme Courts.
Requirements:
  • Competent and confident courtroom advocacy on behalf of clients.
  • Exceptional client management skills.
  • Able to attend to a high volume of clients and prioritize time effectively.
  • Punctual, reliable, strong work ethic, and passion for social justice.
  • Familiarity with Victoria Legal Aid's guidelines regarding criminal matters is an advantage.
  • Previous Criminal Law experience as a solicitor or administrative assistant is an advantage.
