Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Database Reliability Engineer.

This role involves collaborating with a mission-driven team that protects people, processes, and technologies. We work on large-scale distributed systems with a focus on data plane services and automation in cloud environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a deep understanding of data components including Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.

  • Maintaining data components involves staying up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in these technologies.
  • Operate and automate properly configured clusters for these data components.
  • Understanding operating databases in Kubernetes and managing container images is essential for this role.
  • The ideal candidate will develop infrastructure services to support a DevOps approach for engineering teams.
  • Collaboration with Engineering and Customer Support is crucial for troubleshooting time-sensitive production issues.
  • The candidate will ensure petabytes of critical business data are safe, secure, and available.
Requirements:
  • Configuration management skills using tools like Chef.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
  • Experience working with large-scale datastores using Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, and MySQL.
  • Familiarity with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments.
  • Experience operating within the cloud, preferably AWS, GCP, and OCI.
  • Able to work effectively with both local and remote teams.
  • Strong decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Independent yet collaborative with the prudence to ask for help when needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
