Role Overview
The University of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic to join our Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering as a Lecturer in an Education Focussed role. This position will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop new teaching methodologies and deliver outstanding teaching and student experiences that lead to better graduates.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences in biomedical engineering and related areas at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Contribute to the development of new teaching methodologies and educational technologies to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research and publication, to maintain expertise in biomedical engineering and education.
- Participate in curriculum design and development, and contribute to the accreditation of biomedical engineering programs.
- Provide academic leadership and support to colleagues, and contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
- PhD in biomedical engineering or a related discipline with a focus on biomechanics and/or relevant work experience.
- Proven track record of teaching and learning design, development, and delivery in biomedical engineering and related areas.
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
