Responsibilities

  • Lecturing and Teaching: Deliver high-quality lectures on biomedical science topics, ensuring alignment with ACU's curriculum and learning outcomes
  • Practical Sessions: Prepare and deliver hands-on laboratory sessions, emphasizing safety and proper technique
  • Tutorials and Workshops: Facilitate interactive tutorials and workshops, fostering student participation and understanding of biomedical science concepts
  • Teaching Materials: Develop and update teaching resources, including lecture slides, handouts, and assessments, to ensure relevance and accuracy
  • Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students during office hours, addressing their questions and concerns about course material and assignments
  • Collaboration: Work with faculty members to ensure consistency in teaching approaches and share best practices in biomedical science education
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Assess student performance through various methods, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their learning and development
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress, adhering to university policies and procedures
  • Program Development: Contribute to the development and improvement of biomedical science programs by providing feedback and suggestions based on teaching experiences and student outcomes

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Hold a Master's or PhD degree in biomedical science or a closely related field, with relevant certifications or training
  • Teaching Experience: Demonstrate experience in teaching biomedical science at the tertiary level, highlighting your ability to engage and motivate students
  • Subject Knowledge: Show evidence of in-depth knowledge and understanding of biomedical science subjects, including current research and developments in the field
  • Communication Skills: Highlight your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including your ability to explain complex concepts clearly and facilitate discussions
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, including your ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrate awareness of the University's Mission and Catholic ethos, and commitment to cultural diversity and ethical practice principles

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $80-$120 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. This hourly rate may vary based on factors such as location, industry standards, and individual qualifications.
