Job Description

As an Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the entire compost production process to ensure optimal efficiency. This includes:

  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee the compost production process to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
  • Planning and Scheduling: Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly compost production plans and cleaning schedules are met to maintain a smooth operation.
  • Machinery Operation: Safely operate machinery in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of compost production specialists to achieve operational objectives.
  • Performance Management: Assist in managing the performance and development of team members to ensure they meet their roles' expectations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to improve operational performance and efficiency.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and manage procurement activities accordingly to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to achieve company objectives and promote a culture of teamwork.
  • Safety First: Champion a safety-first culture and report any incidents in accordance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) policy.

The Ideal Candidate

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within an agricultural, fresh produce, or production environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes, as well as industry regulations and company policies.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong negotiation and relationship management skills to lead a team and collaborate with other departments.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to strategize and implement improvements to operational processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate with the team, other departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Passion for working in an outdoor environment and willingness to pitch in where needed.
  • Qualifications: Forklift and Front End Loader license is preferred, but not required.
