We are seeking an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to join our team in making a difference in the lives of people who are blind or have low vision.

About the Role

This role involves assessing the ability of clients to travel safely and confidently within their community, advising on and prescribing mobility aids, and providing specialist services to meet individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing client mobility skills and developing strategies for improvement
  • Providing training and guidance on the use of mobility aids
  • Collaborating with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for clients
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Approved qualifications in Orientation and Mobility as recognised by Orientation and Mobility Association Australasia (OMAA)
  • Knowledge and skills in working with children, adults and older adults, along with training and intervention strategies for individuals and groups
  • Experience in providing client support and Orientation and Mobility services in person and/or through other communication mediums
  • Willingness to travel around the region
