The role of Environmental Sustainability Specialist plays a crucial part in ensuring the long-term environmental viability of our operations.
Job Description:
As a key member of our Health, Safety & Environment team, you will oversee field-based environmental monitoring activities, including surface water, groundwater, dust and soil sampling. Your analysis of monitoring data against trigger levels and long-term trends will inform reporting. You will also undertake internal compliance verifications to ensure environmental approval requirements are implemented, audit and manage environmental risk using Fortescue's risk management systems, lead incident investigations and identify corrective actions, and prepare annual statutory environmental compliance reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or equivalent.
- Have at least 5 years' experience in a relevant industry role.
- Possess strong knowledge of WA and Federal environmental legislation and guidelines.
- Be proficient in MS Office and general IT systems.
- Exhibit excellent organisational, communication and prioritisation skills.
