We are seeking a Research Scientist to join our team and contribute to groundbreaking innovations that shape the future of environmental sustainability.

This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with a close-knit group of scientists, external research partners, and stakeholders to design and implement studies that drive ecological innovation.

The role's core elements include:

  • Designing, implementing, monitoring, analysing and writing up field trials to improve environmental performance.
  • Engaging and communicating across scientific networks, sharing findings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working closely with rehabilitation teams to assist in handback and botanical monitoring programs.
  • Contribute to broader research initiatives, such as native plant production, fauna interactions, and studies related to soil and water dynamics.

Requirements:

  • A PhD or Masters by Research in Ecology or Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Flora research experience with a keen knowledge of Western Australia flora.
  • Expertise in designing, installing and monitoring large-scale field trials and vegetation surveys.
  • Ability to translate research findings into management improvements.
  • Background in mining rehabilitation with a knowledge of GIS would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills including delivering presentations, publishing reports and papers.
  • An ability to analyse complex datasets using appropriate statistical methods.
  • A WA Drivers Licence will be required to travel across various sites.
