Estimator Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at our Altona location. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality residential construction projects.

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate Bills of Quantities and issuing Purchase Orders to support the construction process. Your work will directly impact cost control, build accuracy, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost, material, and labor estimates using industry-standard estimating software.

  • Generate accurate Bills of Quantities by interpreting architectural drawings, engineering plans, and specifications.

  • Issue timely and accurate Purchase Orders by coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers.

  • Manage variations and resolve PO-related queries to ensure project success.

  • Maintain project margins in line with company policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient project execution and continuous improvement of business systems and processes.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least 2 years of experience in residential estimating within the building industry.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

  • Strong attention to detail and a logical, solution-focused mindset.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines without compromising accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with DataBuild or similar estimating software.
