Job Title: Head of Operations Pharmaceuticals

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Operations Pharmaceuticals to join our client's team. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the pharmaceutical operations, supply chain, and quality aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all operations and supply chain activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Operations Management: Be responsible for the technical and commercial operation of the business, including packaging management, procurement, storage, and distribution, and quality assurance.
  • Supply Chain Management: Provide training, support, and monitor performance for all supply chain activities.
  • Leadership: Deputise for the Managing Director as needed and be responsible for the overall operation in their absence.
  • Supply Chain Development: Develop supply chain managers to cover the operations director role.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Ensure S&OP and MRP (including artwork compliance) is carried out as required by specific clients/products.
  • Cost Management: Manage supply chain costs in line with Therismos and client expectations.
  • Project Management: Complete operations-related projects and reports.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain oversight of the inventory strategy to minimize write-offs/losses.
  • Outsourced Activities: Conduct management of outsourced activities in accordance with Therismos processes and ensure commercial agreements are current.
  • Commercial Agreements: Approve work orders placed on CMOs for packaging activities.
  • Sales and Exports: Maintain oversight of sales activities and ensure compliance with exports of unlicensed products and sales of controlled drugs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for the transportation, storage, and distribution of products.
  • Negotiations: Negotiate and agree commercial terms for the supply of medical products.
  • Product Returns: Maintain oversight of returned products, out-of-date stock, or damaged stock in line with current GDP guidelines.
  • Recalls: Liaise with clients and customers in the event of a recall and carry out responsibilities accordingly.
  • Import and Export: Identify planned purchases constituting import of medicine or controlled drugs and ensure appropriate processes are used.
  • Training and Development: Ensure staff are trained in the maintenance of the controlled drugs license.
  • Specifications and Assessments: Review and approve specifications, including transport assessments.
  • Deviation and CAPA: Maintain oversight and review & approve all Deviation and CAPA activity.
