About Our Mental Health Service

Central Queensland provides specialist mental health care to residents in Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone and surrounding districts. We offer 24/7 acute care services for consumers in the Rockhampton and broader Central Queensland areas.

The Role:

  • The Co-Responder will collaborate with emergency services to effectively respond to individuals with potential mental health issues.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge, experience and clinical skills in mental state assessment, risk assessment, referral and application of the Mental Health Act
  • The Co-Responder acts as a reference point for clinicians regarding liaison with emergency services, complex community mental health assessments and brief interventions.
  • Participate in and contribute to research activities and evaluations within the work unit.

Requirements:

Hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate authority to practice in one of the following fields:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Social Work
  • Registered Nurse
