About us :

Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance, and alcohol-related care to residents of Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Biloela, Moura, Woorabinda, and Central Highlands districts, as well as adult patients of the Central West Hospital and Health Service (catchments with a population of over 250,000).

The Acute Care Services offers a specialised mental health service available 24/7 for consumers in the Rockhampton and broader Central Queensland Hospital and Health Services areas.

About the role :

  • The Co-Responder will collaborate with QAS to enhance the capacity of all services to respond effectively to individuals with potential mental health issues who come to the attention of emergency services.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge, experience, and clinical skills in mental state assessment, risk assessment, referral, and application of the Mental Health Act
  • The Co-Responder acts as a reference point for clinicians regarding liaison with QAS, complex community mental health assessments, and brief interventions.
  • Participate in and contribute to research activities and evaluations within the work unit.

About you :

Hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate authority to practice in one of the following fields:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Social Work
  • Registered Nurse

What we offer :

The total remuneration package can reach up to $172,615 per annum, comprising:

  • An hourly rate between $ $72.58 (Nurse Grade 7)
  • An hourly rate between $ $76.30 (HP5)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
