About the Role
The Mine Scheduling Lead Truck & Shovel / Haulage role at a Queensland mine in the Bowen Basin requires effective leadership and technical expertise to design, schedule, and execute plans for up to 12 weeks. This position offers development opportunities in other Mine Scheduling disciplines with an initial focus on Truck & Shovel design and scheduling.
This technical role involves developing working relationships with operational and medium-term scheduling teams to ensure efficient execution of plans and schedules. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and communicating Truck & Shovel designs and schedules.
- Developing and following Production Planning standards and processes.
- Participating in investigations of reported events and training for Production Planning.
- Identifying and implementing Production Planning improvement initiatives.
- Mentoring junior Mine Scheduling Specialists.
- Developing the design for budget formulation.
- Building cross-functional relationships with operational sub-functions and interacting extensively with planning sub-functions.
Requirements
- A tertiary education in Engineering (Mining/Civil) and previous experience in Mine Planning are essential.
- Truck & Shovel planning experience is highly valued.
- A solid working knowledge of Deswik and/or Vulcan, SPRY, and Microsoft Office packages is necessary.
