About the Role

Caval Ridge is located in Queensland's Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people.

At Caval Ridge, the Mine Scheduling Lead Truck & Shovel / Haulage role involves providing design, scheduling, and execution direction to the execution team for up to 12 weeks. This role offers development opportunities in other Mine Scheduling disciplines, with an initial focus on Truck & Shovel design and scheduling.

This technical role requires developing effective working relationships with operational and medium-term scheduling teams to ensure efficient execution of plans and schedules. This is a great opportunity to join a vibrant and diverse team.

Reporting to the Mine Scheduling Superintendent, your main responsibilities will include:

1. Preparing and communicating Truck & Shovel designs and schedules.
2. Developing and following Production Planning standards and processes.
3. Participating in investigations of reported events and training for Production Planning.
4. Identifying and implementing Production Planning improvement initiatives.
5. Mentoring junior Mine Scheduling Specialists.
6. Developing the design for budget formulation.
7. Building cross-functional relationships with operational sub-functions and interacting extensively with planning sub-functions.

About You

Your background in a similar position or environment will position you well for this opportunity. Your communication and relationship skills are of utmost importance. It is essential to demonstrate impeccable safety behaviors, and being safety-focused is part of your daily routine. The role is fly-in fly-out from Brisbane/Cairns to Moranbah with an 8/6 roster, so candidates must be comfortable with these arrangements.

Skills & Requirements

• You will have a tertiary education in Engineering (Mining/Civil) and previous experience in Mine Planning. Truck & Shovel planning experience is an advantage.
• You must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships across departments and communicate effectively at all levels.
• A solid working knowledge of Deswik and/or Vulcan, SPRY, and Microsoft Office packages is essential.
