Youth AOD Case Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Youth AOD Case Manager to join our team at Mission Australia. As a key member of our SHIFT team, you will play a vital role in providing outreach alcohol and other drug (AOD) support to young people in environments where they feel safe and comfortable.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments and intake processes to identify the needs of allocated individuals.
- Provide AOD counselling sessions using evidence-based approaches and theories to empower young people to make positive changes in their lives.
- Develop holistic, strength-based support plans in collaboration with young people, their families, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Make referrals and collaborate with specialist support services to help young people achieve their goals and overcome challenges.
- Facilitate educational groups and service information sessions to promote awareness and understanding of AOD issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and perform other administrative duties to ensure the efficient operation of the service.
- A degree or diploma in social welfare, social science, or a related field, and a minimum of two years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge and application of child and adolescent development, child and youth safe practices, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to tailor communication to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to provide outreach engagement and support to young people experiencing risk factors in their lives, requiring perseverance, flexibility, and innovation.
- Highly competent administration and report-writing skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- A full driver's licence with no restrictions.
