Retrofit Specialist Job Overview

Are you a skilled professional looking to leverage your technical expertise and drive business growth? Sulzer is seeking an experienced Retrofit Specialist to join our Services team in Australia.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales, tendering, and mechanical or hydraulic engineering. Additionally, they will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Spearhead the development of regional strategy plans, sales plans, and continuous improvement projects to drive business expansion.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and technical consultant for sales teams and end-users, providing expert guidance on retrofit enquiries and related activities.
  • Create account/region plans to deliver growth of retrofit opportunities in allocated sales territories, leveraging technical knowledge and customer market requirements.
  • Foster collaboration between local Regional Sales teams to work in-line with strategic plans, identifying opportunities and driving them through to order award.
  • Contribute to the Rolling Forecast process for nominated sales territories, working closely with regional sales and service managers/directors.
  • Achieve and exceed local and regional OI for Retrofit projects set during budgeting, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Promote identification of retrofit opportunities within nominated sales territories by conducting tasks such as technical forums, health checks, asset reviews, customer visits, internal training sessions, etc.
  • Establish effective client contact, relationship building, and management processes to positively influence clients and create a predisposition to view Sulzer as the preferred source of supply.
Requirements:
  • At least 7 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Expertise in Sales/Tendering/Applications/Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Project Management (highly desirable).
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, supervisory experience, negotiation and influence skills, SAP, PC computer proficiency in windows and Microsoft office programs, ability to motivate subordinates, time management, industry and supplier network, understanding of competitions offerings, knowledge and understanding of cultures within the region.
