The primary objective of a Hospital Security Guardian is to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors within the hospital premises. This is achieved through effective control room operations, proactive patrols, engaging with individuals, responding to calls for assistance, handling emergencies, and resolving conflicts.
About the RoleThis 12-hour rotating roster offers an excellent work-life balance. Key responsibilities include:
- Control room duties such as monitoring CCTV cameras and alarms
- Foot and vehicle patrols to identify and prevent potential security risks
- Conflict resolution and emergency response to ensure the well-being of all individuals
To be successful in this role, applicants must possess:
- A current NSW Security Licence (Class 1A)
- First Aid Certification to provide essential care in emergency situations
- An Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1/P2) for safe transportation of personnel and equipment
- Knowledge of security techniques including conflict resolution, de-escalation, and restraint practices
As a Hospital Security Guardian, you will work closely with the healthcare team to maintain a safe environment for patients, support visitors, and protect staff and assets. The role focuses on early identification, prevention, and management of incidents, ensuring compliance with work health and safety legislation. Excellent customer service and professionalism are expected at all times.
You may be required to contact local law enforcement agencies for suspected criminal activity and take necessary precautions to avoid unnecessary risk.
