Job Opportunity: Indigenous Community Liaison

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill a key role in supporting First Nations children aged 0–9 with disabilities or developmental delays.

The successful candidate will play a crucial part in empowering the independence, community inclusion, and overall quality of life for these children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building strong relationships with First Nations families to ensure their voices and preferences are at the forefront
  • Undertaking observations of a child in their natural environment (face to face and/or remotely via video conference, where applicable) to assess their functioning and support needs
  • Supporting First Nations families to establish meaningful goals & aspirations for their child and family and track progression toward goals
  • Providing community connections and linkages to mainstream services in the local area to improve children's access to the right supports and meaningful social participation
About the Role:

This is an Identified Position open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only, under Section 14D of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with First Nations children and families
  • Understanding of child development (0–9 years)
  • Connection to local First Nations communities
  • Ability to promote a culturally safe and supportive work environment
