Job Title: Indigenous Engagement Manager

Aurora Education Foundation is a leading Indigenous organisation that aims to empower First Peoples through education and lifelong learning. Our mission is to inspire Indigenous Australians in their education journey and connect them with opportunities that enable them to realise their potential.

We are seeking an experienced Indigenous Engagement Manager to lead our High School Program (HSP) and Redefining Indigenous Definitions of Success in Education (RISE) project. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing program strategies, engaging with key stakeholders, and driving stakeholder management initiatives.

  • Program Development:
  • Develop a long-term vision for the HSP and RISE project, aligned with organisational goals and external factors.
  • Lead the development of program strategies, objectives, and plans in alignment with organisational priorities.
  • Student Recruitment and Engagement:
  • Recruit students into the HSP and RISE project from school MoU sign off to student application approval.
  • Plan and execute program participant engagement activities, including camps, one-day engagements, family days, learning plans, and other activities.
  • Training and Support:
  • Design and coordinate training on program content, planning, assessment, and pedagogy for program staff, Elders, and Mentors.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Identify and collaborate with external facilitators and organisations to deliver engagement activities and lessons.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, organisations, histories, and the strengths and issues facing Indigenous people in Australia. They will also have excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate across teams, and experience using Microsoft suite of programs and CRM.
