Role Overview

The Senior Finance Strategy and Planning Analyst plays a pivotal role in providing strategic financial capabilities to support university strategic planning and resource allocation decisions. This involves offering expert financial management advice, benchmarking finance measures across faculties and the overall institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews business case financials and ensures that business proposals and forward estimates accurately reflect known fiscal risks, anticipated challenges, and emerging trends.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive financial strategy to support major projects within the university and align with its operational objectives.
  • Provides advisory services to inform decision-making through data-driven analysis and modeling, contributing to strategic initiatives and program implementation.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Hold a tertiary qualification with professional certifications such as CA or CPA, complemented by demonstrated success in complex business analysis and project management.
  • Possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse stakeholders and conveying complex ideas.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and proactively identify innovative solutions to drive business performance.
  • Skilled in developing, analyzing, and interpreting complex data models and providing actionable insights to senior management and non-finance leaders.
  • Ability to challenge existing practices and contribute to process improvements in financial policies and procedures.
  • Highly independent with the capacity to identify and overcome barriers through pragmatic problem-solving.
