Job Description

Classification: Parliamentary Service Level 6

Branch: Property Services Branch

Section: Maintenance Services

Immediate Supervisor: Assistant Director

Under limited/general direction, undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification. The duties will include:

  1. Lead a small team responsible for timely and efficient provision of collection and distribution services in Australian Parliament House (APH).
  2. In collaboration with the Planning and Quality Branch, lead a small team responsible for managing the department's furniture relocations within APH.
  3. Oversee and contribute to the management of logistics fleet and related equipment throughout its entire lifecycle, including purchasing, maintenance, and disposal activities.
  4. Manage the Department's waste collection arrangements ensuring services meet the client and stakeholder needs and expectations.
  5. Perform the duties of a Contract Manager in the administration of a small number of waste removal and delivery services contracts.
  6. Undertake a range of planning activities to ensure service delivery is maintained during times of heightened activity or as a result of an unanticipated service disruption (business continuity/recovery).
  7. Undertake a range of risk management activities to ensure all logistic services comply with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Legislation, Regulations, and other standards.
  8. Develop and maintain policies and procedures that provide clear guidance on the provision and management of logistic services.
  9. Perform the role of the department's Disposal Official, including providing advice and coordinating the disposal of departmental assets.
  10. Propose and facilitate innovation initiatives that contribute to business improvements.
