The role of the Occupational Therapist is to provide effective rehabilitation services as a member of an interdisciplinary team in the assessment, planning and delivery of occupational therapy for clients referred to the Community Rehabilitation Unit.
The unit comprises a diverse range of services working with clients with acquired neurological conditions such as stroke and traumatic brain injury, as well as progressive neurological conditions like Parkinson's disease and Multiple Sclerosis.
The team focuses on client-centered goal setting and rehabilitation planning.
Key Responsibilities:- To ensure best practice standards for occupational therapy services provided by the unit, adhering to organisational policies and professional codes of conduct.
- Knowledge of contemporary occupational therapy practices including assessment and intervention techniques, relevant literature and resources.
- Ability to exercise professional judgment, initiative and time management skills to prioritise and monitor workload while providing high standard of client care.
- Tertiary qualification/programme approved by the Occupational Board of Australia
- Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
