
National Forecasting Specialist

The role of Rostering Coordinator requires a high degree of organizational skills and effective communication to coordinate national forecasting and warning services.
As a key member of the Community Services Group, you will be responsible for scheduling teams of specialists to respond to changing weather conditions. The role involves daily liaison with leaders across Decision Support Services, Environmental Prediction Services, and other teams to ensure appropriate resources are activated with sufficient lead time.
This involves operating within a national capability, accountable for delivering forecast and warning services 24/7 in collaboration with DSS and EPS teams as required.
With the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, you will contribute to bolstering resilience across the enterprise by coordinating national forecasting and warning services. Your skills will be essential in periods of peak workload, such as concurrent or extended high-impact weather events.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating national forecasting and warning services
- Scheduling teams of specialists to respond to changing weather conditions
- Ensuring adequate resources are allocated with sufficient lead time
- Collaborating with DSS and EPS teams to deliver forecast and warning services
