Job Overview

As a Explosives Handling Assistant, you will be part of a team delivering high-quality explosive services to customers in Central Queensland. You will work alongside experienced professionals on-site, assisting with tasks like loading, tying, and firing blasts.

About the Role

We are seeking applications for multiple Explosives Handling Assistants to join our North Surface Coal Team. The successful candidates will have demonstrated work history in physically demanding jobs, working in all types of weather. They must also possess excellent communication skills and be able to pass all required security checks.

The role involves assisting experienced professionals as required, assisting with the hands-on delivery of explosive products, drilling, and loading explosives in blast holes.

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting experienced professionals with tasks like loading, tying, and firing blasts
  • Assisting with the hands-on delivery of explosive products, drilling, and loading explosives in blast holes
  • Working closely with team members to provide excellent service to customers
  • Demonstrating and setting an example of key safety priorities
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated work history in physically demanding jobs, working in all types of weather
  • Ability to pass all required security checks to obtain QLD Explosives Security Clearance (a clean criminal history)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screen
  • Excellent, positive, and collaborative attitude where you look out for your team members
  • A basic mechanical comprehension is advantageous but not essential
