Job Description

The Asset Disposition Lead will be responsible for the preparation and planning of asset disposal programs for major Defence assets within the Maritime Domain. This role requires a deep understanding of Defence disposals policies and procedures, as well as experience working on major projects within Defence or related technical industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Specialist Military Equipment (SME) disposal plans in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Commonwealth and ITAR legislation and policies
  • Manage potential risk with focus on hazardous materials and environmental damage
  • Identify the most cost-effective form of asset disposal to reduce overall cost to return funding to the sustainment of the current capability
  • Build and sustain collaborative working relationships with all staff and stakeholders
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or relevant industry experience with related qualifications
  • Deep understanding of Defence disposals policies and procedures
  • Experience working on major projects within Defence or related technical industries
  • Demonstrated leadership and organisational skills
  • Project management qualifications/experience desired
