Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Lead to join our team in Sydney, working on various civil projects across the East Coast of Australia. As a key member of our construction division, you will be responsible for overseeing project planning, management, and execution.

About the Role:

In this permanent position, you will work closely with our on-site teams and management to ensure successful project outcomes. Your expertise in civil engineering, project management, and financial/commercial management will be essential in meeting client expectations and driving results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the completion of civil projects through effective construction planning, project controls, and financial management.
  • Liaise with site personnel, both internal and external, to allocate labour, materials, and equipment for efficient project delivery.
  • E nsure project deliverables meet specifications, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Manage subcontract procurement, including negotiation and execution of subcontracts.
  • Select and recruit suitable candidates for project roles.
  • Prepare and track monthly performance reports, including financial, program, and HSET data.
  • Review project financial performance and provide innovative solutions to reduce costs or add value.
  • Ensure accurate allocation and coding of direct project costs.
  • Process progress claims, including variations, within required timeframes.
  • Oversee contract management, identifying commercial claims and entitlements in the best interests of the company.
  • Manage site plant resources, including hired equipment, according to SRG procedures.
  • Promote a strong commitment to SRG's Zero Harm culture and high standards of work.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification required.
  • Previous experience on concrete structure projects is essential.
  • Certificate IV in Project Management (desirable).
  • Certificate III OHS or similar field (desirable).
  • Strong communication and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective HSQE management.
  • Strong financial/commercial acumen.
  • Ability to lead a team, influence stakeholders, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to solve complex problems using logical reasoning.
  • Willingness/ability to work in remote locations as required.
  • Hold a current Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Pass a pre-employment medical and D&A.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and Jobpac (desirable).
