We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Hunter New England Mental Health Service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical leadership, supervision, and high-quality care to patients, families, and carers.

About Our Department

Our department is renowned for its comprehensive mental health services, including adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, old age psychiatry, liaison and emergency psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, psychotherapy, eating disorder, substance misuse, and neuropsychiatry. We have a strong focus on education, research, and maintaining a good work-life balance.

About the Role
  • A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways
  • Demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in Psychiatry as a Consultant
  • Participation in the on-call psychiatrist roster for after-hours telephone advice
  • Providing high-quality and compassionate care directly to patients, families, and carers
  • Clinical leadership and supervision to multidisciplinary teams
  • Support, advice, teaching, and direction to junior medical staff undergoing professional training at different levels, Nurse Practitioners, medical students, and other health professionals as required
