About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neurologist to join our team as Stroke Lead for the Southern NSW Local Health District. This is a unique opportunity to lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of Stroke services across the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of Stroke services, ensuring high-quality care delivery
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and service efficiency
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers and community organizations
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Stroke medicine, including subspecialization in Stroke care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Neurology and/or equivalent and specialist recognition and further training/qualifications in Stroke including research and trial coordination capability
  • Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high-quality Stroke and Neurology services, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position
  • Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and other hospital staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health service colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team
