Job Title: Chief Financial Strategist

As a key member of our organization, the Chief Financial Strategist plays a critical role in driving financial performance and operations portfolios. Reporting to the Managing Director and founder, this executive will partner with Equity Directors to deliver initiatives for commercial operations and financial reporting.

The Chief Financial Strategist oversees commercial operations and financial reporting, ensuring organisational preparedness for strategic objectives. This role provides informed commercial and strategic insights to stakeholders, achieving key financial metrics and managing operating risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee commercial operations and financial reporting requirements.
  • Ensure preparation for scale needed to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Provide informed commercial and strategic insights to stakeholders.
  • Partner with Equity Directors, staff, stakeholders, and service providers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A Commerce/Accounting degree and CAANZ/CPA qualification.
  • Experience in a Finance Manager / General Manager role, accountable to Boards & Equity Directors.
  • Commercial leadership experience within growth-oriented enterprises.
  • Strong understanding of finance, technology, business development, marketing, risk, and HR.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling/analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Xero and experience with financial or CRM system implementations.
  • Experience managing payroll, taxation, financial reporting, working capital, and compliance obligations.
  • Ability to supervise and lead small teams while managing competing priorities.
  • Experience preparing succinct executive-level reporting packs.
  • Developing internal policies and implementing control frameworks.
  • Commercial acumen and business case development experience.
