Criminal Lawyer/Advice Lawyer Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Criminal Lawyer/Advice Lawyer to join our team. As a key member of our legal services department, you will play a vital role in providing expert advice and representation to clients.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced lawyer to expand their skills and knowledge while making a real difference in the lives of our clients.

About You

  • You have a strong understanding of criminal law and procedure, with experience in preparing cases and advocating on behalf of clients.
  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • You are self-motivated and disciplined, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.

The Role

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare cases and provide expert advice to clients on criminal law matters.
  • Represent clients in court, including Magistrates and Children's Courts.
  • Provide duty lawyer services, including appearing for clients in custody and higher court call-overs.
  • Deliver outcomes through self-management and supervision from senior legal practitioners as required.
  • Contribute to policy, procedure, law reform, and legal service delivery initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
