About this role

The successful candidate will join our multidisciplinary team, working at the forefront of Earth sciences. They will be applying their expertise in machine learning, AI, and data analysis, particularly in downhole core image analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Solving complex problems using machine learning, scientific computing, and data analytics techniques.
  2. Developing innovative applications for ML and data analysis, including design, maintenance, and deployment.
  3. Maintaining and improving existing tools for ML and analytics.
  4. Planning and developing new services for ML and analytics.
  5. Collaborating with data scientists and engineers within and outside the team.

Key qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, quantitative science, mathematics, computer science, or related field.
  • Industry experience in relevant data science roles.
  • Proficiency in Python for computer vision tasks and analysis.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining ML models and data pipelines.
  • Commercial software development experience.
  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions.
