Job Overview:

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all Australian and New Zealand sites in both wages and salary.

This critical role within the payroll team will ensure that the running and reporting requirements of the payroll are met in an effective, accurate and timely manner in line with current employment agreements, policies, procedures, award and legal requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the time and attendance system
  • Audit payroll data in alignment with SAP
  • Answer routine payroll questions or collect factual data to provide answers and resolve enquiries from managers and staff on conditions of service, entitlements and policy including enquiries on salary, leave, allowances, deductions, tax and superannuation according to the relevant awards and agreements
  • Ensure payroll processes are appropriately documented and regularly reviewed to ensure accuracy and compliance

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in payroll management in a medium to large organisation;
  • Strong working knowledge of, and ability to interpret applicable industrial instruments and legislation;
  • Experience working with time and attendance system preferably Kronos;
  • Able to meet demanding deadlines in a weekly payroll environment;
  • High level computer skills including Microsoft suite, excel and specialist corporate systems;
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative;
  • Excellent organisational and time and priority management skills in order to achieve set objectives within timeframes;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
