Job Title: Gameplay Engineer

At Rockstar Games, we are currently seeking a skilled and talented Gameplay Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the development team, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and implementing core gameplay systems and features for our next-generation games.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement core gameplay mechanics and systems using C++ and game scripting languages.
  • Collaborate with other developers, designers, and artists to ensure seamless integration and effective communication throughout the development process.
  • Work closely with the design team to develop and implement gameplay features, ensuring they meet the required quality standards and align with the overall vision of the game.
  • Identify and address technical issues that may arise during development, working proactively to resolve problems and optimize game performance.
  • Contribute to the development of new tools and technologies to improve workflow efficiency and reduce development time.
  • Maintain and enhance existing codebases, ensuring stability, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in low-level software development, including at least 2 years in the video games industry or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and game design principles.
  • Proficiency in C++ and game scripting languages (e.g., Lua, Python).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
