Senior Claims Team Lead

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Team Lead to join our Workers Compensation leadership group at Gallagher Bassett. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your claims team, focusing on Front-End or Early Intervention Workers Compensation claims. Your primary objective will be to ensure your team is well-supported and performing in line with our strong customer service and claims management standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your team's daily workflow to achieve effective output and maintain client service standards
- Provide effective leadership, coaching, and feedback to staff on technical, business, and performance-related issues
- Work with the Branch Manager to identify staff skills and knowledge gaps and assist with up-skilling your team
- Develop and cultivate team morale and an achievement-oriented culture, ensuring a dedicated and team-based approach to claims liability determination
- Mentor and coach team members, encouraging creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Identify areas for improvement in our Claims service provision and implement strategies to ensure GB's services meet business and WorkSafe requirements
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team in the recruitment of new team members
About You
We are looking for a candidate with experience in a People Manager role, possessing outstanding leadership skills, and experience in coaching and mentoring staff. A background in client services or account management is also desirable. In-depth knowledge of the Insurance Industry and legislation, specifically Workers Compensation Insurance, is essential. Additionally, you should have knowledge of Workers Compensation industry performance measures, interpersonal skills, time management, workflow management, and conflict resolution skills. Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health or a relevant field are also preferred.
