Communications Coordinator Job Description
  • Full-time permanent position with a 70-hour fortnight and optional RDO.

We're seeking a dynamic Communications Coordinator to join our team. As the industrial voice for over 48,000 public sector educators across Queensland, we're looking for someone to lead our communications efforts and strengthen member engagement.

About the Role

As our Communications Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of shaping and delivering our message across various platforms. You'll oversee a talented team of specialists and work closely with external media providers to ensure our member voices are heard loud and clear.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist external media providers to deliver consistent messaging across digital platforms, media, campaigns, and projects.
  2. Implement internal and external communication strategies.
  3. Ensure digital platforms are monitored and responses are consistent with narratives and messages.
  4. Develop compelling narratives for member collateral and hard copy publications.
  5. Maintain consistent branding across all platforms.
  6. Identify and manage emerging issues.
  7. Lead a team of communications professionals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, especially in delivering complex concepts.
  • Experience in member/customer engagement and digital platforms.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, reactive environment.
  • Leadership skills to manage a team that may work remotely.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in public relations, communications, or journalism is preferred but not essential.
