Job Description

Role Overview:

As a Communications Officer, you will be part of a large QLD Government department's projects or media streams of communications. Your key responsibility will be to support the department's strategic direction by developing and delivering day-to-day operations of their communications and media functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated previous experience in Communication Officer positions, ideally within the public sector. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and Implementing Comms Campaigns: Developing, writing and implementing comms campaigns and projects ensuring readability, accuracy and compliance with QLD Gov's guidelines and the department's comms protocols.
  • Providing High-Level Communication Advice: Providing high-level communication advice to senior management, senior staff and business areas.
  • Establishing Effective Relationships: Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong media & social media skills
  • Experience working across the delivery of external campaigns
  • Extensive experience with internal communications & media
