About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Family Support Worker. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with families and individuals affected by alcohol and other drugs, mental ill-health, youth justice issues, and socioeconomic disadvantage.

As a Trainee Family Support Worker, you will be responsible for conducting child safe assessments, working in a strengths-based, child-centred, family-focused way, and promoting the safety of children, young people, and parents.

You will also participate in the development of comprehensive family plans, provide support to parents struggling with individual issues, and advocate for the needs of children, youth, and families.

We are looking for someone who is progressing towards a relevant qualification in Community Services or a related discipline, and who is able to demonstrate and authentically promote HOPE's values.

As a member of our team, you will have access to training and development opportunities, and will be supported in your role by a experienced and dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct child safe assessments using risk assessment tools
  • Work in a strengths-based, child-centred, family-focused way
  • Participate in the development of comprehensive family plans
  • Provide support to parents struggling with individual issues
  • Advocate for the needs of children, youth, and families

Requirements:

  • Progressing towards a relevant qualification in Community Services or a related discipline
  • Ability to demonstrate and authentically promote HOPE's values
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and organisational skills
