The Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) program is a unique opportunity for individuals to make a difference in their community. This collaborative service between Wellways and Eastern Health provides an option for people who are becoming unwell or need a short period of additional support to strengthen their gains from spending time in an inpatient setting.

Recovery Workers play a vital role in this program, working closely with participants in their recovery journey while at PARC. They lead groups and activities onsite, provide operational support, and help create innovations and improvements for the ongoing quality of the program.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate IV in Mental Health, AOD or Disability or a tertiary qualification in social science. They should also have demonstrated experience in the field of mental health and/or disability, as well as an understanding of the biopsychosocial model of mental health and social inclusion principles.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with clinical care teams to support participants in their recovery journey
  • Leading groups and activities onsite
  • Providing operational support and contributing to program development
