Expert Physiotherapy Academic Leader

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Physiotherapy Academic to lead and drive initiatives in a growing University. As the Professor, Physiotherapy and Head of Discipline, you will provide strategic leadership within the Institute and represent the Discipline internally and with industry and professional bodies to ensure discipline activities are recognised nationally and/or internationally.

This is an exceptional opportunity for high-performing Associate Professors looking for a chance to step into a Professorial role. You will:

  • Provide academic leadership and managerial decision-making in Physiotherapy.
  • Provide mentorship and support for junior academic staff career development.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of student retention and success strategies.
  • Manage accreditation and other quality assurance processes for physiotherapy courses.
  • Foster meaningful partnerships with industry, government, and community groups.
  • Lead, develop, and maintain an international research profile, contributing to the growth of the Institute through research and teaching.

To be considered for this position, you will have demonstrated:

  • An outstanding international scholarly reputation, including a record of research publications in refereed international journals in Physiotherapy.
  • A reputation as an eminent authority in physiotherapy, with a reputation for leadership at both a national and international level.
  • Experience in establishing, leading, and managing research groups.
  • Extensive leadership and management experience, including a strong record of supervising Doctoral students to completion.
  • Strong industry connections with industry, government, and community groups in Physiotherapy.
  • The ability to travel between Victorian campuses regularly.
