About the Role

Federation University Australia is seeking an experienced Physiotherapy Academic to lead and drive initiatives in a growing University. As the Professor of Physiotherapy and Head of Discipline, you will be responsible for strategic leadership within the Institute and represent the Discipline internally and with industry and professional bodies.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a high-performing Associate Professor looking to step into a Professorial role. You will provide academic leadership and managerial decision-making in Physiotherapy, mentor junior academic staff, and lead the development of student retention and success strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic leadership and managerial decision-making in Physiotherapy
  • Provide mentorship and support for junior academic staff career development
  • Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of student retention and success strategies
  • Manage accreditation and other quality assurance processes for physiotherapy courses
  • Foster meaningful partnerships with industry, government, and community groups
  • Lead, develop, and maintain an international research profile, contributing to the growth of the Institute through research and teaching

About You

To be considered for this position, you will have demonstrated an outstanding international scholarly reputation, a reputation as an eminent authority in physiotherapy, and extensive leadership and management experience. You will also have strong industry connections and the ability to travel between Victorian campuses regularly.
