Senior Health Policy Specialist

The Department of Health, Tasmania is seeking a Senior Health Policy Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level analysis, risk management, strategic advice, leadership and direction in the planning, development, implementation, management and delivery of key strategic policy, programs and education initiatives related to child safety and wellbeing in a health service delivery context.
About the Role:This position features multiple permanent full time and part time, day worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from March 2025. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
The Team:
The purpose of the Child Safety and Wellbeing Service is to support the Department to create a child safe culture, implement strategies and take action to promote child safety and wellbeing.
Reporting to the Director of Recovery and Child Safeguarding, you will lead a small team of dedicated staff across one of two streams (1) Training, Education and Advice or (2) Policy, Projects, Risk and Engagement.
- Providing high-level analysis, risk management, strategic advice, leadership and direction in the planning, development, implementation, management and delivery of key strategic policy, programs and education initiatives related to child safety and wellbeing in a health service delivery context.
- Manage a small team of employees with a range of portfolio responsibilities related to child safety and wellbeing activities.
